I am thinking of purchasing the Sole F80 Console (2017). Before I do could you help me determine if a bad console is the likely cause of a few keys not working on our F80 treadmill? Is it maybe a cabling issue? A:
Yes, we have been experiencing static discharge while using the treadmill. I would not mind opening up the console to replace the display board. I searched your website, but I could not find the display board. Can you point me to it?

Q:
I have a Sole F80 treadmill that is probably 20 years old. I purchased in used a few years ago. Will the console shown for a 2017 unit work for this treadmill? Thanks

A:
No it will not work. There are a few parts left for that year model unfortunately.

A:
I am 99% sure its just a bad display inside the console. If you are uncomfortable replacing the display inside the console then a new console is your best option. Based on past experience, you discharged static to the treadmill at some point while using it?

Q:
When I put the key in the key slot, the machine doesn’t respond to it and keeps displaying “safety key removed machine stopped please replace the key to operate”. Does that mean that I need to replace the key or do I need to replace the entire console? I also turned off and on the machine too but there were no changes.please advise. If I have to replace the console does that also replace the spot where the key is inserted?

A:
I am 99.9% sure its one of these 2 possibilities. 1) The safety key itself is bad. The coating of the metal part of the key is the primary conductor that completes the circuit for the console to turn on. If the coating is worn, the key will not be able to complete the circuit. 2)The module that the key plugs in on the inside has fallen out of place. You can tell by how easy it is to inserting the key in the hole. If this is the case, you can open the back of the treadmill and replace this module. Both these parts are around $15.
