Sole F63 / F65 / F80 Upgraded Optional Controller (2016 - Current)
CRD020075-02
North American Version - 120V
Featured Question
Sole F63 s/n 563818
Black wire from switch to circuit board burnt/melted today and also damaged the adjacent red/brown device on the board.
1. What causes this and how can I prevent it in the future?
2. Is CRD020075-02 a compatible and worthwhile upgrade?
Treadmill is used 3-5 times per week for 30-60 min each time.
Keith
This is typically caused by high Amperage draw due to the motor not being able to hold the speed it has been commanded to meet. Think of cruise control on a car, the computer on the car will tell the engine to rev up until it meets the commanded speed even if there is a hill and the car is heavily loaded. So eventually as you approach minute 50ish, the main live wire (black wire) heats up so much that it melts the live terminal.
You can prevent this by lightly lubricating the deck. In your specific case, this is why your original controller was recently upgraded to the version 2 controller.
Sole F63 (2013 - 2022) Version 2 Controller
Yes the CRD020075-02 is compatible with your treadmill and a beast of a controller. I've personally yet to see this controller burn. (I've been a Master Tech at Sole for 19 years)

Great replacement
Sole repeatedly could not supply the part, this was an exact replacement, easy to swap out and works perfectly. A little more expensive than Sole, but no choice if we wanted to do the repair, about a third the cost of a new machine.

F80 Treadmill Controller
Relatively easy swap out with the factory controller. Upgraded controller had a couple more terminals than the original, however, one phone call to clarify connections and my treadmill was up and running, and still running two weeks later.

Works but..
I selected the upgraded controller based on the recommendation on the website. We had it professionally installed and it does work, but there are a couple odd issues: When it’s set at a 0 incline, it still inclines about 4”. We propped it up with some blocks so that the base is level. The speed settings seem slower than before. On the old controller, 3.8 was a pretty brisk walk, but with the upgraded controller I’m having to set it on 4.6 or so to get the same level of intensity. These are both things that we can work around, but I’m not crazy about having blocks under my treadmill for a 0 incline. ___________________________________________________________RESPONSE - If you had this controller professionally installed, the installers should know that you are supposed to run calibration after replacing a controller. The new controller is not in sync with the current hardware. You could have simply called us and we could have walked you through a simple 2 minute procedure. But thanks for an honest review.

Q:
My treadmill started to smell and then shut off. I checked the factory board and it looked like the large capacitor had some burn marks on the backside and the yellow glue around it started to brown. I bought a replacement 1500uf 200v capacitor and replaced the large one, but my treadmill still won't turn on. I'm getting a red light on the power switch, and a tiny green LED is flickering beside the red Main cable, but nothing turns on. The 15a fuse on the board looks intact, any idea what would be the problem? Trying all options before buying a whole new board if I don't need it. The manufacturer has a replacement board on backorder so no idea when I will get one, I'm willing to buy a 2nd one to have a backup if needed, just looking for some advice before purchasing. Thank you
Asked by:
Derik Carlson
- 9/23/2024
A:
Derik,
That big capacitor is just a drive motor capacitor. When that capacitor burns, the heat normally gets so high that the entire circuit board gets affected. That's why you are not getting a solid green light next to the computer plug. This controller is much more superior than the one you had. I highly recommend it and we have all controllers in stock.

Q:
I have a Sole Fitness F63 Serial #5638161809055701. I purchased this board to replace a failed board. I followed some online instruction to connect the board properly and I get a E6 when I try to start the belt. This board has more connections than my old board - do I need to return and buy the old board instead?
Asked by:
Charles
- 12/28/2023
A:
No you need to contact us for tech support. We need to verify that this is hooked up correctly. The only 2 terminals that are not used are the ones labelled fun. Your model does not have a fun so you don't need this. We are open until 5pm EST, all our contact options are under the contact link above.

Q:
I have a 2020 F63 treadmill serial 5638182001034772 and need a motor controller. The existing controller bar code is CHM44AE00116XLCISM60014777. It is similar, but not identical, to this board. How do I tell if this is the correct replacement? When she called you she was told she needed a CRD 200109. This number is nowhere on the existing board. Thanks

Q:
I have a sole f80 about 2yrs old. It's sends an error code after about 30min of use. The red wire has burning. Question is, is the version 2 or this controller a better replacement? And if this doesn't fix it and undamaged can I return it? I'm 240, run 4mi slowly but deck constantly maintained.
Asked by:
Ryan W
- 5/20/2024
A:
Yes its a better option. Yes you can return it as long as the circuit is not discolored from the Heat. In your situation I'd highly recommend the "Sole F63 / F65 / F80 Upgraded Optional Controller (2016 - Current)"
